Mikhail Doshevsky

Moscow, dad

We completed our first session at Junio-R, and it was pure delight! In just 8 days, we discovered who’s better: a robot or a human, filmed a movie, participated in theatrical improvisation, created a giant board game, and had conversations with both kids and adults about informal education. Of course, we also enjoyed classic activities like board games, tubing, and snowball fights.

Junio-R is not just a camp; it’s a place where very intelligent and diverse people spend time together. It’s a place where parents and children collaborate on projects, and where there’s a high concentration of fascinating and kind people. The only thing it shares with a traditional camp is the name. There are no outdated practices, no division into groups, no mandatory rest time, and no rigid rules. Yet, there’s always something to do.

What’s interesting is that many parents worry about their kids being glued to their phones. Well, during Yunio-R, Igor’s screen time dropped by 70% compared to the previous week (based on accurate statistics). And this happened without any restrictions! When engaging activities surround you, there’s just less urge to spend time on the phone.

In this short time, we made a lot of new friends—thank you all! We’re excited about the prospect of meeting again during the summer session!

And a big thank you to Dmitri Soshnikov! Thanks to your recommendation, we found out about this wonderful place.
